WIPAK AND ORFER ANNOUNCE COLLABORATION TO AUTOMATE PALLETIZING AND PACKING LINES IN FINLAND
Digitizing and automating production lines
Wipak and Orfer have announced a collaboration to automate Wipak’s palletizing and pallet packing lines at their factory in Nastola, Finland. This collaboration represents a significant investment in Wipak’s ongoing digitalization and production automation initiatives.
The new delivery includes a modern, automated line with cutting-edge technology, featuring advanced labelling and quality assurance systems. Notably, the system includes an interface to seamlessly integrate the production line with Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs). Specifically designed to handle a wide range of products, including flexible film and boxed items for both the food and medical sectors, the system is poised to enhance efficiency and streamline Wipak's operations.
This collaborative effort aims to enhance productivity, reliability, and dispatch quality while also fostering improved working conditions within Wipak’s logistics operations. The project, expected to be completed by mid-2024, will employ both Orfer and their partners.
Wipak and Orfer’s partnership dates to 2015 when Wipak embarked on a technological overhaul of their Nastola factory and introduced a new packing line. Orfer played a pivotal role in this transformation, ensuring the production line became more efficient and streamlined. In 2017, the collaboration was further reinforced when Orfer supplied Wipak with another fully revamped robotized packaging and palletizing line.
Leveraging decades of expertise in robotic palletizing, Orfer is enthusiastic about contributing to Wipak's ambitious project. By upgrading the integrated pallet and box handling system, Wipak aims to elevate its operations to new heights of productivity and efficiency.
